The Order:1886 Remixes the Past

If you haven’t heard, Sony and Microsoft each released a new console this past November. While there are many games from third party publishers that exist on both platforms, part of what makes this console war fun are the exclusives. One of the salvos for Sony’s Playstation 4 comes in the form of Ready at Dawn’s The Order:1886.

E3 2013 trailer

The newest trailer released today and if the rumors are true that cutscenes and gameplay are graphically indistinguishable, boy are we in for a treat! The Order is a secret cabal, similar to Assassin’s Creed’s Templars, that have existed for centuries to fight against evil. It’s now London in 1886 and while the beginning of the their Industrial Revolution has brought about such wonderful historical inaccuracies as dirigibles, elevated trains and bazookas, it has also brought us shape shifting monsters.

The Pledge trailer

The Order:1886 is rumored to be released sometime this year. Can you help them restore…order to London? We think the game looks gorgeous and can’t wait to get our hands on it so that we can give you our full impressions. How do you feel? Is this the game that will make you take the next-gen plunge? Will it be a game to justify to your significant other that the Playstation 4 was a sound investment? Let us know in the comments below.
